Miles Montgomery
Founder & President
Miles Montgomery founded Cherokee in 2003 after a 20 year career in the in-ground utilities industry. Miles is responsible for the company’s long-term vision, as well as Field Operations, Estimating and Customer Relations. Miles began his career working for cross-country pipeline contractors and gradually became involved in a variety of commercial development projects. During this time, Miles developed a reputation for estimating which is second to none in the industry. In fact, Miles’ estimates are so detailed and precise that they are often used by contractors to more accurately scope a project. Miles’ deep relationships with contractors and owners is the result of this successful collaboration across hundreds of projects. Miles also ensures that the family environment at Cherokee is thriving and that everybody is focused on “getting it right the first time.”
Jeff McElroy
CFO & Managing Partner
Jeff McElroy serves as Cherokee’s Chief financial Officer. In this position, Jeff manages the company’s financial operations, including acquisition and use of capital, accounting and reporting, financial planning and analysis, and contract administration. Jeff joined Cherokee in 2008 after a successful career in the high technology industry serving as a principal owner and key executive for successful companies both privately and publicly traded. Jeff brings a unique, public company perspective to Cherokee. Jeff’s implementation of financial best practices and processes has allowed the company to grow rapidly with no disruption to daily operations, quality or customer responsiveness.
Amy Montgomery
Chief Safety Officer
Safety is critically important to Cherokee and its clients. As Cherokee’s Chief Safety Officer, Amy is responsible for ensuring that all jobs are safety certified by Cherokee’s Safety Engineering consultants and that all of our employees receive the proper levels training and certification. Amy has 10 hour and 30 hour OSHA certifications in a variety of areas, including construction safety, trenching & excavation, first aid, electrical safety, fire safety, rigging, scaffolding and occupational safety. Prior to Cherokee, Amy had a successful career in oil and gas, finance, and insurance industries.
